Songs that shake the sky — the winged fairy folk whose music moves creatures and opens the heavens.
The Ventara are the fairy folk of Mythica — small in stature at around three feet tall, but possessed of wings and an inner vitality that makes them among the most culturally rich and magically expressive people on the continent. They are governed by a single ruler (a King or Queen) supported by a council of community leaders, reflecting their deep value of collective wellbeing balanced with clear, decisive direction. A Ventara without a community is rarely a Ventara at peace.
Their Sky and Light affinities shape a culture oriented toward elevation — both literal and spiritual. Treetop homes, floating platforms, woven leaf structures that sway in the canopy winds — Ventara architecture reaches upward with the same instinct that drives their flight. They are whimsical and clever, but their cleverness is not frivolous. It serves genuine spiritual purposes: the Ventara believe that playfulness is a form of attention to the present moment, and that joy, expressed freely, is one of the most powerful forms of magic.
Music summoning is their defining art. A Ventara summoner calls a bonded creature not through spoken command or written invocation, but through melodic resonance — a song, hummed or sung or played on an instrument, that vibrates at the exact emotional frequency of the bond they share with their creature companion. The Rising Chorus, their most sacred vocal tradition, can fill an entire sky with creature calls during great bonding festivals.
